Trek and Tour Groups
- Our treks follow on with a 2 days turn around time.
- We can create custom treks and tours for groups of any size but our set-departures range from 3-30 trekkers with an average group size of 3-15. We strongly feel that smaller groups are much more enjoyable and interactive in addition to being safer for our clients and less destructive to the environment.
- If you wish other members to remain in the group you're in, please notify us at the time of booking.
- Refer to our departure dates when making your bookings or if you do not fit within any of the dates given, we can tailor your trekking depending on your requirements. Please contact us if this is so.
Group Discount
A 10% group discount is offered if you pay upfront or are trekking in groups of 3 people or more and if your group pays upfront. Our discounts are not applicable to clients willing to utilise our payment plans.Please inform us at the time of booking if you are eligible for a discount.
3-Months Payment Plan
We have 3-months payment plan for those that want to pay for their trek or tour by installments over six forthnights (Three months).

Your Preparations
We take care of all arrangements within Papua New Guinea for your Kokoda trek or tour, but there are some things you must do here in Australia before you go:
- Undergo our Kokoda Trek Fitness Program
- Get medical clearance from a qualified doctor to trek the Kokoda Trail
- Obtain any necessary vaccinations, prescriptions and medication
- Buy return airline tickets to Port Moresby, PNG
- Arrange travel insurance with QBE Insurance
- Arrange your visa for entry into Papua New Guinea
- Ensure you have a valid passport
How long in advance should you book your trek?
Bookings for treks should be made at least 8 weeks or two months before the trek date. This ensures there is enough time for all necessary preparations, including the 10-week Trek Fitness Preparedness Program.
Payments must be completed 30 days or 1 month before the trek date to allow all administrative and logistical arrangements for your trek to be finalised.
Military History Trek Bookings
Trekkers who would like to trek and learn about the military history of the Kokoda Campaign and/or The Buna, Gona and Sanananda Campaigns must book for a Military History Trek. This trek runs from February to November. Trekkers will do stops at designated battlesites for battlebriefs which would have been circulated among those interested before embarking on trekking the Kokoda Trail. Eco-tourism Trek Bookings
Trekkers not only interested in learning about the battles fought along the Kokoda Trail and/or at Buna, Gona and Sanananda, but want to learn about PNG, the people, the natural enviroment, history, trek and the lifestyle can book an Eco-tourism Trek. This trek run from February to November. We welcome individuals, schools, colleges and universities intending on doing eco-tourism studies on the trek and about PNG. ANZAC Day Trek Bookings
Trekkers who would like to trek the Kokoda Trail around 2012 ANZAC Day and be part of the ANZAC spirit are strongly advised to book their treks now. Because of the huge demand for ANZAC Day treks, we have to book and pay for accommodation, transport, aircrafts, guesthouses, campsites, etc., well in advance.
Depending on the trek you choose, you will spend part of your 2012 ANZAC Day trek at a dawn service at either Isurava battlefield, Owers Corner or Bomana War Cemetery. Priests will be provided as main celebrants for these dawn services.
Bomana War Cemetery is a 20 minute drive from Port Moresby. It is the resting place of approximately 3000 Australians who died in PNG during WWII, about a thousand of whom died on the Kokoda Track and the rest at Milne Bay, Buna, Gona and Sanananda. Their bodies were transfered from temporary graves to Bomana at the end of the war.
We will take any number of trekkers for 2012 ANZAC Day, however, these will divided groups of 10 -15 trekkers or even more. It is an opportune trek and an experience of a life time never to be missed, so secure your place today and book online now.

Buna, Gona and Sanananda Tours Bookings
Kokoda Trail Expeditions also offers short Kokoda battle tours (3-days) or Extended Kokoda battle treks and tours (12 and 13-days)
